This survey forms part of a pilot study. It primarily asks about your experiences, usage and ideal future requirements of childcare for your children aged 4-11 years. It also asks about any possible effect childcare provision may have on other aspects of family and Service life.
The survey should take around 10 minutes to complete.
The survey is being run by the Directorate of Children and Young People (DCYP) and is overseen by Defence Statistics.
Your replies will be treated in the strictest confidence and no-one from your/your spouse/partner’s Chain of Command will see your completed survey. To make sure your views remain confidential, only grouped answers will be reported.
You do not have to take part in this survey and choosing not to will not disadvantage you in any way. By completing and submitting the survey you are agreeing to take part in the research.

Q. What is the purpose of the survey?
A. The purpose of this survey is to find out about your current views towards childcare and how Defence supports this.

A. The results will be used to help make decisions in relation to childcare support in Defence, and in particular with regard to Wraparound Childcare (WAC)

A. You have been invited to take part in this survey as you are recorded as making use of the current Wraparound Childcare Project for RAF High Wycombe and RAF Halton.
Q. Do I have to complete the survey?
A. No, you can choose not to, the survey is entirely voluntary.
Q. What will I be asked to do?
A. You will be asked to answer several questions regarding your childcare and other aspects about that topic. Completing the survey takes approximately 10 minutes.
Q. Will my Service Person’s Chain of Command see the responses?
A. No. No-one within your Chain of Command will see your responses, only grouped responses will be reported.
Q. Will my records be kept confidential?
A. Yes, they will be kept securely.
Q. What are the possible disadvantages and risks of taking part?
A. There are no known disadvantages or risks.
